I think it's been nine months since the two surveys wrapped up. The only news to report is this rather vague article on Siliconera --
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/06/18/so ... ame-survey -- in which Aksys Games tells fans to wait until Anime Expo 2011 in a couple weeks, and attend their panel. Idea Factory staff will also be at AX.
I still don't know if companies think they could make money from publishing otome games and VNs on consoles. A lot of the Idea Factory games which were mentioned in the surveys are only available on consoles which are rapidly becoming obsolete, or which have earned a reputation for being unprofitable. I suspect that it would be less risky to publish on paid download services, though I could be wrong. If you have any thoughts about this, be sure to talk to Aksys staff, or participate on their forums.
If companies do not choose to localize existing GxB games, then English speaking fans will need to collaborate on fan translations, or make their own games.
(Also, there's a recently announced RPG hybrid called Atelier Elkrone. I wonder if NISA or some other company would consider localizing this:
