Skyfish - need fast, affordable colourist + an animator

I need some animation for the next, more polished Skyfish demo. The demo will be released in one month. Link to the project is in my signature.

Right now I'm drawing simple run cycles for a gameplay section for the game, but later on I might need someone to help draw fully animated cutscenes, animated BG's and special effects if we reach some Kickstarter stretch goals. Working on the demo with me will make it more likely for me to hire you when I have the funding.

1. I need someone to colour the animations I make for the game. It's not a very hard job since all you need to be able to do is to colour inside the lines in photoshop, sai or some other program that reads photoshop format and has layers. I could do this myself but since it's really time consuming, I'd like to have someone helping me.

2. I also need help with drawing the actual animations.
---Animator: If you're experienced with art and 2D animation, you can help me draw the keyframes. If you're very experienced or talented, you'll be in charge of most of the keyframes and I'll do inbetweens
---Assistant animator: If you're not as experienced and looking for practise, drawing the in-betweens would be helpful too. For those that don't know, in-betweens are animation frames between the most important frames of animation. To do inbetweens you need to be able to replicate the style of the existing frames and imagine what would happen between the keyframes and draw that.

I'll also need someone who can use After Effects or similar software to to animate rotating objects and moving objects (not frame by frame hand drawn, just moving existing assets and adding special effects), but this is not very urgent. Feel free to contact me if you're interested in helping out with the project later on.

Payment:
I'm planning to do a kickstarter for the game in a couple of months. I'll only be able to pay very modest amounts if we don't reach any stretch goals but if we do, there will be more work available, and I'll also be able to pay more for the work on the demo. I'd actually prefer if you could work for free, but it's not a requirement.

If the kickstarter campaign fails, I'll pay you out of my own pocket - but I can't afford as much as with a successful kickstarter.

Requirements:
All: Fast, affordable, has time to work on the project and can start immediately, has Photoshop, SAI or equivalent
Animator: Has experience with 2D animation, can adjust drawing style to somewhat resemble mine.
Assistant animator: Knows at least the very basics of animation, can copy a style and draw inbetweens.

Amount of work
-Helping me with animating or colouring run cycles.
-Est. 30-60 frames of animation in total (for now), including my work.

Edit: Please contact me by commenting or sending me a PM.

I'm interested on that, but I have got a big question, How many animation second (or drawing) are we talking about? I supouse you will work with layers for go faster. There is any story-board already made or something?

Right now I'm only doing a run cycle for a gameplay sections, so no storyboard is needed.
Longer animated sections will only be implemented if we get enough funding from the Kickstarter. For now I don't have enough money to pay for long animations.

I think the run cycle will end up being around 60 frames, maybe more if we want to make the animation smoother. I work in layers, yes.

Hey is your game still active? Did you still need a colorist?

Hey there,

Skyfish is currently on hiatus (=not active). I'll update this thread when I have time to work on the game.
