Just a heads up, telling composers that you'll take and use their work without paying them if they have to leave the team for whatever reason is extremely predatory and probably won't attract the kinds of musicians you'd want for your game. If you use someone's work and you make money off it, you shouldn't treat them that way.

It's also a good way to wind up in small claims court.
Music composer for:
Innate Imperfections [NaNoRenO 2015] | Blind Griffin [NaNoRenO 2015] | Locked Souls

Please consider hiring me to work on your game.

I second this opinion. However, to balance it out, maybe the thread host can instead offer to pay for the useable work that was done. ie: original package of 10x songs at $10. If 3 useable songs was done, $3 would be a fair amount to compensate the composer for his/her work.

$1 for an original song is not anywhere close to a realistic rate, not even for a rank novice.

E: VV Oh, right. Sorry about that, sometimes I get caught up in details VV

That was just a placeholder price to help communicate the point >.>

If I compose music for the game but then it doesn't get finished after 9 months does that mean I get to own all the art and source code to do whatever I want with? ;-)
