About Death 3:
Death 3 is a Renpy based visual novel that follows 4 main characters: Naois, Sera, Chaybree, and Emery, along with a nameable, genderless main character. This tells the story of spirits known as Guardians who are assigned a human to watch over. If a Guardian does a good job and gets their human to old age, then they might be offered a spot in Heaven as an angel. You see, Heaven has limited spots, so only a few get in. When a human dies, they automatically become a spirit, and a Guardian soon after. Sometimes, however, there's an error in death, and people are caught in between. Our main character is one of those people. Follow their story through relationship drama, competition for survival, total angst, and a few laughs here and there. Death 3 is both BoyxBoy and GirlxGirl, and potentially GenderlessxEither-Gender and is being made for older teens.

Positions Needed

Background Artist
I need someone to draw digital backgrounds for Death 3. I will provide flat concepts for the actual background, but you will be expected to create the finished image. I don't have any deadlines for the drawings, but I do ask that I get the drawing within 2 weeks of requesting it. Backgrounds include school and city landscapes along with the insides of buildings.

Composer
I need someone to compose themes for the different chapters, characters, moods, ect. I won't be very controlling over what you make, but I will give a basic idea of what I'd like it to sound like.


Payment
I do plan on paying the people who help with this project. I hope to mainly pay you through kickstarter and patreon funds, but if I need to, I will pay out of my pocket. I, unfortunately, can't pay very much out of pocket, so I am asking for people who work for cheap wages. The amount you will be payed will be case by case, not everyone will be payed the same thing.

Hey, I'd be interested in composing for this project. I'm a US-based composer who's been writing music for 5 years and I'm currently trying to get into game scoring as a living (because, frankly, the music I make doesn't pay the bills). Here's some examples of my work, which admittedly has a tendency to be all over the place style-wise but I can commit to a more distinctively VN-ish style if needed:

This is the opening piece of my 2016 record Shrouded in Light, I wanted a mysterious vibe to open the album on, to build tension to be released with the subsequent songs.

I wrote this last night because I wanted to write a loop that sounded distinctively VN-y, and still had a B-section with a tension-building chord progression to contrast the A section's light melancholy.

This is a piece from a record I did under the name "the haymarket affair" that primarily blended laid-back jazz fusion with heavy metalcore sections. I especially want to highlight the first half of this song, where I used interlocking melodic lines to create an atmosphere of melancholy.

I'm pretty flexible, and can adapt to pretty much any style you need me to. Basically, just tell me what you need for any given part of the VN and I'll be able to make a pretty good song out of it. I work extremely fast for fairly cheap, and am very flexible on rates.
