We are Fluttering Abyss, an indie visual novel developer
Actually, a group of friends came together 'cause making a VN was something we all wanted to do; the project snowballed into a commercial game.

Our current project [working title: Pancake's Labyrinth] has been running for the past four months and we are at the point of scouting out a composer who can do our soundtrack. We are looking for 10-15 slice of life soundtracks about 90-180 seconds long, suitable for school and date settings (light & upbeat). About half the soundtracks are creepy variants for when the game slowly progresses into horror (so about 5-7 original songs with horror counterparts). Our music budget stands around $500 USD, and we can offer up to 14% of our game's profit. Comments must include at least one sample of a slice of life and horror work as well as your main portfolio link. Deadline is flexible (before April 2019).

Genre: high school, dating, horror
Length: projected at 70,000 words
Anticipated launch date: summer 2019
We will be releasing a free standard edition and an extended edition for $9.99 which will include one additional ending and 18+ scenes, as well as soundtracks and HD CG wallpapers.

Hey, I'd love to be a part of this project! I've been a composer for 5 years and have just started working in video games. I love making horror music, and I'm pretty good at the whole "VN music" thing.

Here's my portfolio, largely comprised of music from 3 projects that are currently in development.

As far as "slice of life" music goes pretty much everything in my portfolio fit but "dumb dating sim loop" and "bonds theme" are both the best example of that. In the realm of horror, there's a corrupted, glitched version of "bonds theme" which is a bit subtler in the vein of the glitched music of DDLC and there's also "spooky loop 1" which is more straightforward dark-ambient horror atmospheres.

I work extremely fast, for fairly cheap, and really enjoy making scary music whenever I get a chance.
Let me know either here or via email (dravenstedman@gmail.com) if you'd be interested in commissioning me.

With love,

Hello!

I'm a classically trained composer with a variety of styles, and I'd be interested in the position! I have worked previously on Stay! Stay! Democratic People's Republic of Korea! and "Chemically Bonded", in addition to several other visual novels/games/Kickstarters. Let me know if you want more examples of my past work on games.

Click here for a link to my portfolio highlighting my variety of work.

Slice of Life example music:
- Relaxation
- JRPG Town Theme
- Small Talk

Horror example music (I have not had the opportunity to work extensively with horror music, but here are some pieces):
- Revelation
- Unusual Atmosphere
- Undertale Orchestral Medley (3:40-5:10 in particular has a horror vibe)

I have always wanted to work on a soundtrack that is a mix of slice of life and horror - some of my favorite anime and games fall under that category. It is definitely something I can see myself excelling at. In case you need help with anything else (from web design, marketing, UI design, graphic design, sound effects, video editing, etc.), you can give my personal website a browse here. I'm always looking for an opportunity to hone my other skills (free of charge) if I were to get the composition position. I hope to hear back from you!
