Ideally, the team would be comprised of
- A 3D character artist with good aesthetic eye and a want to develop his/her skills further in a pleasant environment
- An equally skilled and motivated 2D/background artist
- A producer/project manager to keep us on our toes
- A RenPy programmer
- A proof reader and tester
Funding and revenue
The project will be Patreon funded. We establish a suitable revenue share model between the team - based on contribution.
Project at a glance
- Plot: A master builder gets the assignment of his life: Construct a unique building in a town far to the north. Upon arriving in the small, isolated community, he gradually discovers that his employers have another agenda with his presence. However pleasant to him, this agenda puts him at odds with the hidden powers of the community and their long term goal of purging the town of sins - in a radical manner.
- Contemporary setting. Northern Europe, with genuine, well research cultural elements. The exotics of the North and it's diverse cultures.
- Rich storyline, with choice-based variations, but no large alternative paths.
- Rich character gallery, with well elaborated sub-plots. There's a lot going on in town, and it all ties up to the main plot in the end.
- Entertaining writing, with humor, emotion and tight dialogues.
I have rough-sketched the first chapter in RenPy to give an impression of pacing and universe. In addition, the main story is fully outlined and the character gallery is fully developed. This doesn't mean that things can't be altered - they always do in a creative process, and your (and the user's) input will of course be valuable.
Ambitions
First and foremost, the ambition of the project is to create something beautiful and engaging/stimulating, while having fun at the same time
Establishing a common platform for paid work for the team members is a priority. The novel is also a way of further developing the skills of the team - hopefully to a level that will enable us to increase the revenue of our individual work in future.About me
I am an experienced professional screenwriter with a number of fiction films produced (no, not in Hollywood, rather in a small country). This will be my first VN. I love writing, and through my professional career I've been told that I'm an inspiring person to work with.
Suggested time frame
- November 1st 2021 - Release of Version 0.1 and corresponding Patreon page etc.
- Ambition: Montly relases of chapters - appx 30 in total.
