Hello once again, artists of LSF.
This time around, I'm looking for at least one BG artist for my project, Sickness.

The crux of it is that I'm looking for an additional BG artist or two to complement the work of Tempus, who has been doing the BGs for Sickness so far.

Your style doesn't need to be an exact match. It just needs to be similar enough that the BGs don't look out of place within the same game.

BGs will be 1920x1080. Bigger is better though; if you draw at a higher resolution, I'll either zoom or scale, as appropriate.
Some are complex, some are simple. Some have daytime variations, most do not.
Also, there are a couple of BGs which need to coincide with (or at least not contradict) existing CGs.
Given that there are currently around 50 BGs I'm ready to commission, I don't expect one artist to do everything, so if you're fine with some of these types of BGs but not others (eg. you won't draw time variations), that's okay.

Pricing is negotiable. However, all of this is being funded out of my own pocket, and there are quite a large number of BGs (and CGs, and sprites) to go, so there is a limit to how much I'm willing/able to pay.
The artists I'm currently commissioning average 50USD for the basic BG, 10USD for daytime variations.
When quoting estimates for your prices, please mention the currency (AUD is preferred), and how much you charge for things like complex vs simple BGs, daytime variations, etc.
All BGs should be fairly simple, and the ones that seem more complex can be simplified to only include the necessities.


Lastly, there are no hard deadlines. However, I'd like to at least get a demo out by the end of the year, and I anticipate working with more than one additional BG artist. So if you're going to take a month per BG, most of the work will end up going to someone else.

To elaborate on the requirements, you don't need to do 3D modeling like Tempus.
Digital drawings are perfectly fine. As long as your BGs don't look out of place, I really don't mind.

I've added a couple more examples (from 7AHO).

Most of the BGs are the interior/exterior of buildings/houses, or of miscellaneous streets.
Several have night time versions.

It will likely be short-term work, just for a few BGs as I work towards the initial release.

Rather than another BG artist, I'm now looking for someone to go over some of the BGs I've already commissioned to essentially color over them.

As I'm commissioning a few artists, I realize the BGs won't be identical in style. However, I think the main problem with several of the BGs is that the colors are very "flat", which doesn't match the other BGs.
So rather than get those BGs redone from scratch, I'm looking for someone who can either touch-up or recolor existing BGs.

If you're interested, or have a different idea, please PM me or respond here.
I can PM you examples of the BGs to change, and what some of the better colored BGs look like.

The conditions (commercial use, size, etc.) are the same as for creating BGs.
As for payment, please quote me after seeing the work to be done. I'd expect that it's cheaper than commissioning full BGs, but at any rate, let me know what you think.

Sickness has been released, but as anyone who has played it will know, the BG art style is inconsistent.
I'm now looking for a BG artist to replace those particular BGs so I can phase them out.

The BGs will mostly be streets, plus a few buildings.
Several will have day/night versions.
The style would need to closely match BGs such as:
