Ren'py and Python Programmer Needed [POSITION FILLED]

#1 Post by Caleb Johnson » Thu Aug 27, 2015 10:34 am

[THE POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED]

Hello,

I'm the Lead Designer of Divided Choice Games, a studio that is currently developing a Visual Novel called Noble Greed. We plan for it to have a turn based strategy style combat system, and we're looking to hire someone to help us out with some of the coding for the battle system. This combat system would need to have code in place to allow for a fully functional turn based combat system, something similar to Fire Emblem (Though a little less complex). This will be something of a long term position, so please don't apply if you can't commit to a fairly lengthy project.]

To break down specifically what I need out of you, I need someone with a decent understanding of GUI design, and class based unit handling. I also need someone who understands basic animation triggering, and how to interface Python with Ren'py, or code a TBS directly into Ren'py (though, I'm not sure that is possible, I don't really know the limitations of Ren'py that well).

I myself have a fair amount of experience programming (However, only a very little in Python and Ren'py), so if there is anything you might not have a full understanding of how to do, I'll be able to help you out from time to time. However, the reason I'm hiring someone to program for this visual novel is my time is fairly limited, so the amount of help I can give will also be somewhat limited.

Payment for this position is somewhat flexible, depending on what you want, I can either pay you a flat rate regardless of sales, or pay you with a portion of the sales, or a mixture of the two, depending on what you want. If you're interested, please either send me a message or post below, and please do give me an idea of your experience and how much you expect to be paid for this position. Also, I would appreciate it if you would give me an email address at which I can contact you.
