I represent a two-man, Patreon-funded studio called Love-Joint.com. I produce, write and do all graphics, while my collegue is responsible for the programming. Together we release adult HTML5 games that tend to explore taboo subjects, and that are playable directly in the browser. We recently finished the first episode of a new series called Play with Us! The game has been well received and has in a few weeks been played by more than 700,000 people. This series closely resembles classical eroge visual novels, but has a lot more interactive sex scenes than is usually found in this genre, has a western focus, and is designed in 3D. Episode 1 was very short (6k words) and served as a proof of concept. For episode 2, we're looking to employ a new member to the team with the soul responsibility of writing for this (and future) titles. This would enable myself to fully concentrate on creating sprites, while taking on a more supervising role in terms of story and dialogue.
I should mention that I also write adult interactive fiction (AIF), my first title being Emily: Sister Attraction. Using prose, I focus on building sexual tension and creating character depth mainly through dialogue with the playable character. I'm now working on the sequel to this game, which is why I need someone to write Episode 2 of Play with Us! under my supervision.
Basic info you need to know:
- You would have close to complete creative freedom on working on this project. You will of course need to acknowledge and follow my guidelines/basic script outlines, but the last thing I want is someone who I have to micro-manage in every little decision. In taking on this project, I'll need you to play my AIF so you better understand what I'm looking for in terms of sexual tension and character depth. I absolutely hate female character that are merely sex objects; they need to have a clear personality, traits and will of their own.
- We're primarily looking to hire someone who's passionate about this project, want to see it grow, and continue working on the series after episode 2 is complete. Basically, we want to transform the studio from a two-man team to three. Since employing my programming collegue in september of 2015, and starting work on Play with Us! our monthly revenue has increased by more than 400%. We recognize that there is a clear demand for the type of games we create, and are confident that our revenues will continue to raise.
- Since we're funded via Patreon where certain backers get to request in-game content, we develop games dynamically, meaning you might have to incorporate other people's suggestions as time on the project passes. This goes without saying, but I never accept requests that compromise my creative integrity, and won't expect you to either. In practice however, this means you can't simply provide a story and then leave the project. We might need you to make modifications to the script, possibly even incorporate new scenes after already finishing your work.
- We want episode 2 and future episodes to total at approximately 30,000 words each.
- You have to be comfortable writing porn games. In fact, a requirement is that you've already written something that at least resembles erotica. Furthermore, you also have to be comfortable with the following themes: step-brother/sister sex, borderline-rape (e.g sleep sex), sex blackmail scenes, and other similar themes. The characters in Episode 2 of Play with Us! are over the age of 18. All scenes are B/G or B/G/G, there won't be any gay sex. There's no violence or gore.
- We want you to be comfortable writing visual novel-like content. Before hiring you, we absolutely have to see something you've already written, preferably erotica.
- You must be a team player. We use a number of different platforms to communicate and create our games. We expect you to take an active part in the game's development, provide feedback and ideas of your own, as well as participating in our conversations and chats. It's obviously okay to be completely anonymous on this project.
- Pay is something we would negotiate individually, although I'd like you to provide your baseline estimate of writing 30,000 words and accompanying changes/modifications. I won't flat out state a set dollar amount here, simply because you might instead be interested in a percentage of our Patreon revenues, which is reasonable for someone who wants to join our team.
- Episode 2 will have two primary characters.
