What the game is and will be:
One Year of Apocalypse is a visual novel, role-playing kinda game being made in Ren'Py. You and three of your companions are roaming a post-apocalyptic area for some time now, and you've all decided it is time to settle down.
The game is split into 4 seasons, each season contains, of course, 13 weeks. Game begins in autumn, and you have 13 weeks to find yourself a place to stay. And even if you do, will you survive the struggles of winter? Of springs and summer?
You have 36 total skills, each skill has 10 ranks. Each week, you get to choose 2 skills whose rank you want to increase. You are then tested in variety of events whether your particular skill is of high enough rank. If yes, you'll get a very good outcome. If not, outcome will be much worse and may lead to a game over.
What I want/need:
I need people that can do some art for me. And by "some" I mean all of it. You see, I have problems with drawing a straight line, so I need some help from others. I need the menus, backgrounds and characters.
I could give you a realistic number of menus that I need. That being said, as the entire story is not completed yet, when it comes to bg and characters, I can only say I'll need 10 and more backgrounds and 5 and more characters.
I want reliable people. And I want people that are willing to put their heart into their work. This may be just a project in python run vn engine, but alot of stuff depends on that project. I am putting my soul into it, and I need corresponding work from others.
What I can offer:
We're talking money:
We're talking other stuff: I'm going to be honest. This is my first project. I never hired people. And what's worse, I don't know almost anything about art. I don't know about styles, I don't know how much artists would ask for. I'm hoping I can find people that will have the patience to work with me, will help me figure out the best style for the project. I'll be only glad to pay such people.
Now, that being said, you might want to see my work. What I'm about to show you is a video I made, showing how stuff works. Most of the game will be taking place in that one set of screens, that's why I consider most of the code done.
Disclaimer: The following video contains images drawn by myself. Such images were done without any drawing skills and images serve only to represent their future substitutions in code, testing it's functionality. You can find the video here.
If you have any questions, I will gladly answer them here. If you're considering accepting my offer, please write to my mail, Lezalith@gmail.com
