Hiring Artist for Sunshine Effect(CLOSED)

#1 Post by Googaboga »

We found someone. Thank you!

---------------------------------------

Hello!

I'm looking to hire an artist to draw three or so frames of diagonal, mostly transparent, sunshine images. The images will be shown one after another to create a tiny animation effect. I've got a way to play images in a loop over a background and I want to add this shining sunshine effect to make the game look a little more alive.

Here's an example of a background the effect would be layered over. I can give you the full version to help with getting the look right, if you're hired for the position.

I understand most people probably don't have a reference for this, aha. Just include whatever you want as examples of your work. Character art, background pieces, interface, it's all fine. I'll really need you to list how much you'd charge for the piece. Payment will be sent through Paypal at the rate you've set. And feel free to include any experience you might have with other projects.

Also, if this goes well, I'll ask about doing a couple more simple animation effects. Like, maybe a lense flare kind of thing. So, that'll be something to keep in mind too.

The project this is gonna be used in is GB Patch Games' third commercial VN and it's called "Our Life". There's not really a true plot going on there. It's simply a story about living life in a small beach town with an eccentric neighbor. It's a bare bones set-up because the emphasis is on customization and lots of choice making. I haven't made a work in progress thread for the game yet. It's quite early in production. Art, music, and outlining are all in-progress, though.

You can PM me or leave a comment here to apply, or if you have any questions/comments/concerns.

Thank you very much for the time!

If you have Photoshop you can get some light beam brushes that are very cheap for commercial use and that would fit your requirements. You can make them fade in and out or get bigger and smaller using ATL. I would suggest that instead of having someone draw it as it would be far cheaper. You can probably do the same thing with lens flares and other effects too.

I appreciate the idea! Unfortunately, I don't have Photoshop or really any artistic ability that would allow me to take premade brushes and arrange an animation effect that didn't look completely amateur, aha. If someone has Photoshop and can put together something nice using brushes, I've got no problem with them inquiring about the position. I am gonna be pretty picky about how it looks, though, which is another reason why I was hoping for someone to make the animation custom. Still, I'll keep that possibility in mind :].
