[Closed] Ren'Py Patreon Postcard Art Commissions

#1 Post by PyTom »

(This is technically on-topic since the patreon supports the forum hosting.)

Hello, everyone.

As you might know, I'm running a patreon to support Ren'Py at https://www.patreon.com/renpytom/ . At the higher levels, I send people a Ren'Py related art commission once a month. Right now, I'm running a bit low on the art for these cards, so I'm re-opening commision work. I'm looking for artists that are active in the community, have participated in creating Ren'Py games, and can work with a reasonable amount of freedom.

There are a bunch of technical, content, and business details at:

https://www.renpy.org/artcard.html

Feel free to ask any questions here. If you're interested in participating, please PM me with your rates and a link to your thread or a gallery of your work.

I'll be honest about my budget, since I've been getting a number of people offering their services for more than I can afford to spend on it. Right now, the postcard reward is pulling in about $200 a month in revenue, which then gets cut down to $180 after Patreon fees. The Patreon doesn't exist just to generate rewards - It's funding things like upgrades to the computers I use to build Ren'Py. This means that I don't want to spend more than a third of that on fundraising.

As a result, my budget for this is currently about $50 a month. Much more than that and the economics don't work out - there's no point in doing it if it doesn't support Ren'Py development. I realize this is probably as much an honorarium as a commission proper, but I'm kind of hoping some people who have benefited from Ren'Py and want to get their name out to our sponsors would be willing to accept that.

Hello, I'm eadgear and I'm interested. I love to draw Eileen in different scenes of course not in NSFW or fan service (I'm also not comfortable with it). I posted on "I'm an artist" forum page but no luck maybe because they don't like my art style or my price is a bit expensive. I do have ren'py,unfortunately, I'm too focus with art so I just offer arts for ren'py creators.

You can check ren'py page here:

and my deviantart here:

Thank you

Hi Tom! I know you're probably seeking artists who are more active on these forums but I was hoping I could still pitch myself!

I don't have many samples at the moment because I'm starting over but you can see my current stuff at: www.instagram.com/woobv . If you're okay with some experimental art for me to test out new styles and stuff (it would still be clean and polished), I don't mind charging just $20 for a full body of Eileen. :)

I'd like to contribute more to the Ren'py community and maybe this will be a way? ^ ^

Thanks Tom!

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I'm going to take a few days to go through everyone that's contacted me, and then I'll figure out where I stand with the Patreon comissions. This will certainly re-open at some time in the future, but I'm not sure when. (It depends on how all the current work turns out.)
