[Closed] Looking for Artist(s) For Project and Potential Partnership

#1 Post by Empish »

So Chris and I have finally decided to move forward with making a studio. The problem is, we have a dire lack of art skills between us. This is where you could come in!

We have conceptualized a small project to use as a trial basis for the artist(s) we select. If we decide we like working together with you after this project we may offer you an equal partnership in the studio, which means you would get an equal share of revenue on all games you work on and get to be project/creative lead for any game whose concept you bring to the table. As a group, we want to create fun and innovative games that have strong mechanics, without being bound to any one genre in particular. Even though our experience is more with visual novels than anything else, if we have a killer idea for a racing game, we will make a racing game! For the sake of that vision, one key quality we're looking for is adaptability.

About the project:

Our trial project is currently titled Chain Letter Conquest and is primarily a comedy puzzle game where you construct a chain letter and let it loose on the internet. Will it conquer the web or fail to make an impact? That's up to how well you make it!

The position(s) for this project in particular is paid, actual amounts to be negotiated between candidates and ourselves.

Assets needed:
At least 5 bust sprites to show people's reactions to the letters
Full GUI
At least one background
Various small icon graphics

In addition to the game basics we'd like to also commission you to make our studio logo.

Artists that can deliver on all of these without us needing to recruit anyone else will be considered more desirable than those who cannot, but not being able to do everything is not a deal-breaker.

The qualities we'll be considering both for recruitment for CLC and for eventual partnership are as follows:

Easy to Reach, quick response time and/or good availability online
Good communication
How well we work together with you
Versatility of style
Reliability
Turnaround time
Whether you're located in the US (this will make it easier to form an actual company with you as part of it)

If you're interested in potentially joining us please either reply or PM with the following info:

Skillset
Best point of contact (Discord preferred)
Desired compensation/rate
Expected timetable
Any other current obligations we should know about
Your strongest selling point

Also please feel free to introduce yourself so we can get to know you and get a feel for how working with you would be.

Who the heck are we?

I'm Emp, a programmer and writer and fledgling Live2D animator. I have a Master's in Computer Science and in addition to my day job as a Software Developer, have worked on a few projects as either a teammate or a hired gun, in addition to my own project ideas.
Chris Thurman is a freelance composer/musician and voice actor. For the voice acting bit, he's worked at Funimation for anime dubs.

We've worked together a few times before, become good friends, and decided we should team up on a more permanent basis.

Hello there. I'm Gravil, just another artist looking for work.
I'd like to work on this project with you guys and hopefully future projects.
If you follow this link https://twitter.com/GravilD/media , there's a list of what I've done recently, including:backgrounds, chibi, full-body, mid-body, etc.
The time frame for the full colored illustrations were about 3-5 days for each.
The price I'd charge for bust commissions would be $30 each, however I can be flexible on that.
As for the GUI, background and icons -- On one hand, I am able to do those things, on the other hand it isn't really my specialty (again, I am flexible on price)
I also completed a college program for game development titled "Computer Information Systems: Computer Game Development", incase you'd need a helping hand in minor programming tasks.
The best way to contact me is via Twitter DM or Discord
Thank you for your time!

Thanks to both of you for applying! We just got a boat load of applications today, so Chris and I may be a little slow wading through all of them, but rest assured that we'll keep at it and give everyone consideration.

Hey there everyone, we've settled on a choice. I'll be going back through notifying all the talented people that we couldn't afford to hire in addition while cringing internally, but just in case I miss anyone I thought I'd announce it here too.
