Anime-style Dragon Paintings for Indie Game

#1 Post by RobbyZ »

Hello!

We are seeking an artist to create a series of 2D anime-style paintings for our upcoming game, Dragon Audit.

These images primarily follow three characters: a dragon character, a human character, and a half-dragon character.

We will be looking for an artist who has some experience drawing humans, dragons, and landscape backgrounds in their portfolio. This is for an emotive sequence, so we want to be able to capture the emotional range of all three of these characters (especially including the dragon!). The ideal artist also has some anime style work in their portfolio which would mesh well with our existing visual style (see dragonaudit.com and about game section below)

The scope of work for this project would be:
- Refine character design for three characters via sketches, ending with a colored model sheet for each. We have some clear reference points for these characters, but also want to give the artist opportunity to make them their own.
- Create nine production-quality stills in an anime style to be included in-game. These are a mix of close-ups on the characters, and farther away showing landscape in the background.

We would like to request final delivery of the paintings to be within 1.5 months from start of contract.

Our target budget for this work is $516. Please note this is a work for hire project, and also that all invoices are paid per completed asset delivered, not per hour.

If you are interested in working on a unique, small indie game project, we would love to talk more with you! Our project is a comedy adventure which is already playable start to finish and is now in the later production stages of getting high quality art created. If you enjoy dragons, anime, or adventure games, this is a fun project to work on with a lot of range for you to show your skills!

Please e-mail jobs-dragon-paintings@ArchiveEntertainment.com and include a link to your portfolio. We are also interested in briefly hearing about any other work-for-hire or commission projects you have successfully completed in past.

(Note that if you are in the process of updating your portfolio, we will not make any decisions until May 1st at the earliest -- feel free to take a few days to apply if you are reading before then.)

Thank you for your interest!

-- About the Project --

"A battle accountant storms the castle to rescue a princess, but accidentally rescues an overly friendly dragoness instead. It's a humorous adventure story in the vein of point & click classics, told with an anime inspired 3D visual style and modern controller-friendly input."
