[CLOSED] need a sprite artist!

Hi, I'm Mattyd.
Some of you may know me from my VN videos.
I also made the BGs for Redd War and Redd War: Showtime and a number of DDLC mods (here).


Project:
I'm currently developing a VN that can be described as:
"A romance, with comedy and hints of psychological horror, and a fresh take on ‘neko persona’."
Also a dark underlying sub-plot that’s explored in expansions.

Intent:
- A free base game with inexpensive DLC and expansions.

Progress:
- Act one script is 3/4 near completion and has been very well received by those who have seen it.
We’ve already received fan-art and offers to translate at no charge (which is really motivating!)

Dev Plan:
- Finish the story-rough script then bring in other writers to flesh-out each of the 3 base game paths giving fresh and deeper perspective to the established personalities.
- Allow moding

Budget:
I’m funding all expenses out of pocket.
Many of the team are volunteering because the like the project, I expect to pay my artists.


Team:
The project is currently
- Myself (writer / director) and 2 artist:
– Game-Sprites Artist
– Menu-Sprites Artist
We have several coders, proofreaders, play-testers, and a bunch of other VN devs ready to support as well.

For the past several months our Game-Sprite Artist has been dealing with some serious real-life issues.
It's unknown when she will return to us
It’s heartbreaking to make this post. She is a wonderful person who I love very much.
The current development of the characters is perfect for the story, and we worked a long time to get them where they are.
But real-life comes first.


Job Requirements:
To start... We’re looking for someone to make "paper-dolls" sprite bases for the existing heads (example).
- Torsos,
- Arms,
- Outfits
for 4 main, 3 secondary, and, 2-3 incidental characters.
Bases and outfits must complement the current style of outfits.
If you do CGs and BGs, and want to do those as well, there will be that opportunity also.
If you get the job, expect to be an integral core to the project.

At this time we expect our current Game Sprite Artist to return at some point in the future to continue work on the heads, hair, and expressions.
In the worst case scenario that she does not, we'd be looking for someone to continue that work also.

Expansions:
A lot more work!

Prices:
- Sprites: Headshot: 27$ Bust: 37$ Half body: 54$ Full body: 75$
- New expressions: 6$ each.
- Arms change: From 16$ to 22$ depending on the complexity.
- New outfit: 25$ each.
- New hairstyle: 12$ each.
- Animal sprites: From 22$ to 62$ depending on the complexity of the animal (eg. a little rat vs a big tiger). This doesn't include anthropomorphic animals (a.k.a. furries), they go on the normal sprites section.

But I look at most of the sprites people make, and I cannot tell what game they came from.
They all look the same.

Then there are the exceptions...
Doki Doki Literature Club sprites - they are unique.
Katawa shoujo sprites - they are unique.

I want sprites that do not look like any other game.

I love the detail of Shimi's hair, eyes and lips.

If I can find someone to capture that, they will get A TON of work!
