Intro
My name is Phil and I work for a studio called No Bull Intentions. We have a background artist working with us on several of our own projects but she is a fast worker and has plenty of time to take on commissions for all kinds of visual novel backgrounds. She is comfortable with a range of genres including contemporary, sci-fi, fantasy, etc.

Details
Each background typically takes 1-2 days. Scheduling will depend on how busy we are, of course, but you'll be informed up front when you can expect delivery.

All backgrounds are delivered as layered PSDs in 2667x1500 resolution to ensure you get lots of detail.

Prices:
Standard background: $100 (all of the samples below would qualify for this price)

Very detailed background: $150 (Only for very complex/detailed scenes.)
3 Time of Day variations : Double the standard price. (These are detailed, hand-painted variations, not Photoshop filters/adjustment layers)

(EG: A standard background with morning, afternoon and evening variations would be $200)

Payment accepted by wire transfer (to UK) or Paypal.

All of these samples were created for our own game and would have cost $100. None of them qualify as "very detailed".

These seem very good, I'm certainly willing to give you a go. The price seems reasonable too. One quick question though:

What price do you offer for "very simple" rooms. I am looking to likely commission (over two months or so) - 4 BG's of a similar detail level to the above. At the price you quoted. But also some very simple ones in addition. As an example:

One of the regular ones would be that of a courtoom, looking up at the main pedestal the judge would sit on.

However a separate one (which I feel would count as simpler) would just be the witness booth on its own, with a plain background. Another incredibly simple one would literally a bare corridor outside the main courtroom - where people might chat before the case. Very bare decorations.

Or just a bare room with a table and chair in it, a single mug and some paper on the table. (the waiting room in a court house).

I would of course be willing to discuss prices based on the specification of each room, if you are willing to. And realistically speaking, whether you agree to or not, I might still use you for the more complex BG's. I just need to stretch my budget as far as it can go.

All of the prices quoted are for a full transfer of rights. The image is yours to do with as you wish, including commercial projects. I like to add completed works to our portfolio if the client is agreeable but this is entirely optional and if you'd like us to wait until your game is released and/or link to your project, we can do that too.

What price do you offer for "very simple" rooms.

It's hard to get the price much lower than the base price listed above, as this is the artist's day job. You say above that you would want a few backgrounds of standard detail and then perhaps a few more of lower detail. If you bring them to me as one job, I'm sure we could work out some kind of deal for you.
