Hello, everyone! My name is María Jesús Gormaz and I'd like to offer my services as a character artist and illustrator. I'm available for both long and short projects.

As for my experience, I've been working on a visual novel project for six months now as a character artist doing the characters design as well as their sprites with multiple expressions, pose and outfit changes. I've done character design commissions for other clients as well, drawing armors, animals and even logos. I'll post some samples below:

Prices:
- Sprites: Headshot: 27$ Bust: 37$ Half body: 54$ Full body: 75$
- New expressions: 6$ each.
- Arm pose change: 16$, one arm, 21$ for two arms.
- New outfit: 25$ each.
- New hairstyle: 12$ each.
- Animal sprites: From 22$ to 62$ depending on the complexity of the animal (eg. a little rat vs a big tiger). This doesn't include anthropomorphic animals (a.k.a. furries), they go on the normal sprites section.

I also offer a Character Design Service:
- Human character design: Clothes and body type: 65$. Face and hairstyle: 40$. Clothes + head pack: 90$.
- Monster design: 45$. (Mechas and big complex monsters, like colossi, are more expensive, 80$ each).
- Weapon or accessory design: From 30$ to $45.
*Each option includes 5 sketch suggestions, which can be mixed and corrected.
- Color palettes: 15$. Includes 4 color variations in flat colors, which can be mixed and corrected too.
- Illustration finish: 13$. Clean lines and shadows over the chosen design.

*If the client needs cheaper designs, we can negotiate less options for a lower price.

btw it seems that the expressions image links are broken.

Your lines and colors are super fantastic.Do you do discounts for certain numbers of images per order? Also, do you do monsters?

Hi! Yes, I also do CGs. They follow a similar pricing to the ones for the sprites, and I charge an extra for backgrounds depending on the complexity, details, etc. For CGs and illustrations I usually offer discounts when multiple characters appear in the same picture so it isn't as expensive.

Hi, Bryy! Sorry for just checking your email now. I can draw monsters, and I can also design them. They follow the same price as for animals sprites unless they are really really complex (like a colossus, a mecha or something), the price would go up a little.

I don't do discount for multiple sprites, but I do for multiple characters on a CG or illustration

What about humanoid or humanoid-like Furries?

I can do them but it depends on the design.

Well, sometimes I can be a little picky about furries. Like, for example, I have no problem drawing characters like Scias (Breath of Fire) or Neko-sensei from Princess Tutu, or cute ones like Aggressive Retsuko, but I'm not very confortable doing other types of characters, like Lola Bunny, Tiger Tony, or any sexy or muscular furry in general, and furries with a face that looks too human for them (like Starfox characters).

I'd say my normal standard is that the head remains as animal as possible, without human-like hair or human-like eyes/faces.

Thank you for your work on The Miller's Daughter. I'm thrilled to have the character art done and it is really time I shared my experience!

I first hired María Jesús Gormaz in August 2017. For the past 14 months she worked on the character art for my project, almost daily, creating a total of 30+ sprites for 19 characters, several alternate costumes, and dozens of expressions. She came up with inspired character designs for new characters and faithfully reproduced the ones that had already been designed. I don't think I could have had a chance at finishing such an ambitious cast without her.

I cannot stress enough how professional and dedicated she is, often finishing sprites faster than I could draft commission outlines. Even though her turn around is fast, she cares about the quality of her work and takes pride in it. She was quick to respond to emails and had clear communication. She worked equally well with full creative control as she did when following highly specific instructions.

There is always a great deal of uncertainty for VN creators when it comes to finding that ideal artist that is high quality, fast, easy to work with, and reliable enough to see a long term project through. After a year of working with her, I can attest that she is indeed all of those things. I certainly look forward to working with her again in the future.
