Writing, Translation, and Plotting Services

Greetings, I am a writer who is passionate about visual novels. I also have studied Latin (as in the ancient Roman language) for over three years. I am currently writing on the script for my project, Dragon Princess, but I am willing to help with potential translations, editing, or small writing jobs.

One thing to note about my writing is that I was trained to write concisely, so I will have to make an effort to get to higher word counts.
I offer my Latin services to anyone who needs help with translating for in-game spells or archaeological discoveries, or whatever your story happens to include.

Additionally I will be offering Plotting services. I will take your story idea and turn it into a plot that you can then work with a writer on turning into a completed script. I have a keen eye for continuity errors and can get a basic kinetic plot done with ease. Branching stories are also doable for me.

Writing sample:
Please check out When Our Journey Ends for a finalized sample of my writing.
For a portfolio piece, you may check out this file.

Translation Samples:
"Love is not a bird that can be tamed." Amor non domabilis avis. [Love is not tameable bird.]
"I have no need for your idiocy!" Tua stultitia non opus habire. [Your stupidity is not deemed necessary.]
"I call upon the spirits of good fortune and safety to protect my home." Super animae de bonum fortunium et salus domus defendere quaeso. [I pray for the souls of good luck and safety to defend the house.]
The thing to keep in mind with Latin is that it is pretty succinct, so I put how it actually translates in the brackets. Many words like "the" or "a" are often left out. I can also coach on pronunciation, if necessary, as there are two kinds of pronunciations commonly taught: classical Latin and Ecclesiastic Latin. I am versed mostly in classical Latin, but I do have some training with Ecclesiastic Latin.

My rates are:
Writing - $0.02 per word
Editing - $0.01 per word
Translation - $0.10 per word
Plotting - $25+ per project, depending on difficulty and size of plot

I've never seen anyone offering Latin translation services before. That's a little out of the norm.

Regardless, I do have Latin in my work-in-progress game, so it might be in my interest to have you edit as well just to keep everything in one place.

I'll drop you a line should the stars align and give me enough time to make a workable script.

Wow, very nice. The price would be well worth the commission, since I don't think any of us are going to be having too much Latin text in our games. Unfortunately, I'm not working on anything that needs this kind of service, but I'll keep you in mind.

Update:Why not post this kind of service on a forum for RPG developers? I seem to see most Latin comes from that genre, so I think you might get more clients if you do that.

I'm pleased to announce that my first slots for writing and editing have filled.
If you want a slot, please let me know and I'll try to work you into my schedule.
Additionally, I've gotten several translation jobs done, which pleases me to no end. :)

Also, if I've worked for you in the past, please review me!
