Hello! My name is Cara Hillstock, also known as Cheratomo around here. I'm a freelance writer/editor specializing in visual novels, video games, and non-native English. I've had professional editing experience, including working on newspapers as a writer and editor, editing screenplays and short stories, and editing for Solstice and Did You Know Gaming. I also made the game Asagao Academy: Normal Boots Club with my partner Danielle, which has been downloaded over 100,000 times to date.

Rates:
I work with both British and American English. My rates are as follows. However, I am flexible in my rates and realize most visual novel developers and indie game companies don't typically have the funds to pay a standard editing rate. Because I'm invested in visual novel creation and video games, I sometimes offer a lower rate for them. If you don't think you can pay my standard rate but would still like to work with me, contact me and we'll see if we can work out something more in range for your budget.

Proofreading: $0.01 USD per word, basic editing for spelling and grammar.
Copy Editing: $0.03 USD per word, includes rewriting already finished work for better flow, consistency, style, and fluency, as well as to correct spelling and grammar. Will provide feedback/criticism on character and plot development if requested.
Writing/Copywriting: $0.05 USD per word, includes creation of new content and/or extensive rewriting for better flow, consistency, style, and fluency, as well as fixing spelling and grammar issues. Will provide feedback/criticism on character and plot development if requested.

I also offer a project rate, which would include my assistance on the entire project for as long as it lasts (within reason).
