Old VN Writer and Producer here, back after a long break.(C)

#1 Post by gateside0 » Wed Jul 29, 2015 12:54 pm

I long time ago, I created a very short VN called 'Yume wo Mita.' I started on another project, but life hit pretty soon after that, and I couldn't find the time/inspiration to restart the old project or make a new one. Always, in the back of my mind, I wanted to return, to start writing once again, and I feel I am at a stable enough point in my life to do so.

I'd love to group up with a team or person to get some more experience under my belt. I can pretty much write about anything that inspires me, but the genres I would prefer are comedy, romance, slice of life, fantasy or anything gritty like Game of Thrones or the Wolf Among Us. If you'd like to know more feel free to ask in a post or PM.

Thanks for Reading!

Edit: Closed. Thanks for the responses! Feel free to PM me anyways if you'd like someone to brainstorm with.

Edit: Probably would be smart to put up a sample, huh?
The boy clenched the baseball tight in his hand. The sun’s glare beat down on his body heavily. Cicadas croaked off in the distance.
“Let’s try this again, one more time.” The boy said out loud.
Moisture ran down his face. He knew this was it. His chance was finally here.
He threw the ball with all his might. With a metallic rattle it clashed into the iron fence behind the home plate.
“What are you doing, dad?!” He yelled to home base.
It scratched the back of it’s head. “Sorry, boy, my reactions a bit slow these days.”
The boy picked the ball up and walked back to the pitcher’s mound.
“You can do it, bro!” It shouted at first base.
The boy nodded to it.
“No way I’m going to let my sister down!”
He spiked another ball and it rammed into the iron fence, with another rattle. The rattles seemed to ring in the boy’s head over and over again.
“Jeez, seriously?! What the hell are you doing you useless old man?!”
“Sorry, sorry.” It said with a kindhearted smile on its face.
“Hey, give dad a break.” It said on third base.
“Yes, your father is getting quite old, dear. Trust your mother on that one.” It said on second base.
“Fine, fine. It’s the last pitch, anyways.”
The suns glare would not shy away no matter how much the boy cursed it. The boy felt as though his head was overheated. More moisture ran down his face. His hands began to shake.
This was it. The final pitch. This would determine everything. The boy was determined not to mess this up, or else it will end up like last time. The boy planned on giving it all his gusto, so it would not end like last time. He would do everything he could, no matter what the cost.
So it won’t end up like last time.
“Hurry up and throw the ball ya’ freggin’ slug.” It yelled at third base.
“Come now, be nice to your brother, dear.” It said at second base.
“Shut up! I’m trying to concentrate!” The boy yelled back.
“Well concentrate faster! What, do you have constipation or something?! We won‘t make it at this point.” It said at third base.
“SHUT UP!”
The boy spiked the ball at third base. The ball flew past the base and started to head towards a girl walking by.
“Crap! Watch out!” The boy yelled.
The girl heard him yell out. She shrieked, ducked and covered her head. The ball whizzed by her head, leaving her unharmed.
The boy sprinted to the girl as fast as he could.
“Are you ok?!”
“Yeah, I-I’m fine.” She looked up.
The moment they met eyes the girl sprang back.
“W-what? What’s wrong?” Said the boy.
She glared at him for a second.
“What?!”
“Are you ok,” she asked.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that,” replied the boy.
“Well… It’s because you’re crying.” The girl said quietly.
The boy panicked and put his hands up against his face. The moisture was there. It was his tears. He withdrew his hand and glared at it.
“I…”
His breathing was erratic.
“All I needed was… One more…”
He turned around and ran away with full force, leaving the girl on the floor confused. After a short while she slowly got up, and noticed the ball. The boy had left it there. She picked it up and stared at it.
“Even though he was a little odd, I should return this to him.” She whispered and headed back to her classroom.
-----

The girl sat with both her friends, still staring at the baseball. Both of her friends were still eating, and it seemed the ball caught their eyes.
“Where’d you get that?” Asked one of her friends.
“Some weird boy threw it at me on accident and ran off.”
“Hck!” Her friend made a noise as if almost choking on her food.
The both turned pale.
“W-what?” The girl asked.
“You don’t mean the boy at the baseball field do you,” asked friend that wasn’t choking.
“Yeah, that’s the one…”
“Don’t talk to him, he’s a weirdo. Better off pretending you don’t know him.”
“Why…? He seemed to lonely…”
Her friend recovered from her choking.
She raised her finger. “Ahm. He used to be the star player in our baseball team. He was extremely popular, with high scoring grades as well. But something happened about a year ago. He became distant from everyone. He quit baseball and started flunking classes. Nowadays he just keeps to himself.”
“What could make him turn out like this?” The girl asked.
“Ya’know,” Interrupted the other friend. “The say it happened on the last pitch of the game.”
“What is it?” She asked, no longer being able to hold back her excitement.

“His whole family died in a car accident…”
