My name is Leonid Pilchin, I am a writer, animator and artist. I tend to imagine stories dramatically and cinematically, and with 10 years in broadcast animation I have a very good picture of how to execute my ideas - this is most dramatically demonstrated in my new adventure A Near Dawn.

I have experience writing stories ranging from over-the-top cartoony zaniness to serious, gut-wrenching suspense. My strengths include making you laugh, unraveling mysteries, and pulling at your heartstrings with well-developed characters who know more than they say and feel more than they show. Personally, I like a balance, and I always aim for realism within the context of the world in which a story takes place. I am also very detail-oriented and like to establish very clear and believable reasons for why things happen the way they do. Having said that, I am up for a challenge and would be interested in writing in most genres. My personal favorites are Science Fiction, Slice of Life, Mystery, and Comedy.

Plot holes, unrealistic character motivations, and unwarranted exposition are huge pet peeves of mine. If you find any in my work, I will be glad to explain to you why they are plausible, because I am sure I spent a lot of time analyzing them myself.
