Well, if any of the fans of the show are feeling confident in their pony impressions, the guys at Mane 6 need voice actors. :D

Just click here.

Their alpha vid was linked earlier in the thread.

How to make me happy: Combine two things I like into one thing I doubly like. Say... My Little Pony combined with... Ace Attorney.

First I thought it was weird.

Then I was surprised at how it wasn't so bad.

Then I discovered that the characters were pretty good.

Then I discovered that even the fashionista stereotype character was likable. This marked the beginning of the end for me.

So I watched the first season all the way through, then forced my brother to watch it all a second time, then tricked my friends into liking it.

And then, season two: Featuring my childhood idol. And that was that.
I support my pony crew whenever I can.

Season 2 started good, continued good, got a little iffy, got better again, and ended with an apocalyptic alien laser battle. I'd say I bet on the right horse.

Most recent news: Gabe Newell is a brony, Mr. DeLancie's returning for Season 3, and the funds for the fanmade commercial thanking Hasbro surpassed $10k in less than 24 hours. Things are going pretty well in the land of Equestria.

You meant to say "pony".

Also, while Season 2 definitely had its share of stinkers (and a few near-unforgivable out-of-character moments for Applejack and Fluttershy) it was all in all an enjoyable season with one of my absolute favorites near the beginning (return of Princess Luna) and an absolutely wonderful finale. The opening two-parter started beautiful but ended up mediocre (i.e. absolutely the way you expected it, and with Twilight now being officially TOO POWERFUL), and I feared that the ending two-parter could head into the same direction, but... well, the MLP team totally knocked my socks off.

If the series can retain this quality, it's a keeper.

I just discovered that series last night. I never had any interest in the Ace Attorney games until I saw the videos, though.

One of my favorite parts of the fandom has to be the wonderful mash-ups that occur. Fallout: Equestria is one of my favorite stories of all time, surpassing even some published novels I have on my bookshelf.

I watched the first two seasons.
"It's a show about ponies for little girls." so you can let go that it's a show about ponies for little girls and will have very childish scenes.
But because it's a show about ponies for little girls, it's really shocking when they show you really well written episodes and deal with some cool things- in particular, the 2 part episode with Discord, and the 2 part episode with the queen changeling.
Pinkie Pie's character is also very interesting- I love her cutie mark story, the episode where her heart breaks and she starts to go insane, and her song about smiling in Doodle's episode.

I was talking with my brother about it who's a non brony, and I was talking to him about really cool parts of the show.
I'm like:
Me "Hey bro, in the show, there's a group of characters who're trying to find out who they are, and once they finally discover who they're meant to be in life, a mark appears on their body."
Bro "Hey, that's actually really cool."
Me "Yeah, I know right? *sighs* well, guess what they're called..."
Bro "... *sighs...* what..."
Me "Cutie Marks."
*Brother rages*
Me "Yeah... yeah, I know..."
Bro "D*mn it! There are really cool things in the show! If it just wasn't about f*cking ponies and it was written a bit better I would totally-!"
Me "Yeah... I know..."
Bro "If their mark was like, epic runes that appeared on their bodies or something- I mean- these characters basically represent virtues. That stuff shouldn't be watered down! If it was called "Steeds of Comradery" or something..."
Me "Yeah... I know man, I know..."
*group sigh.*

... yeah, that's pretty much it...

-Edit-
Alright, really though, Rainbow Dash represents loyalty, Apple Jack is honesty and truth, Fluttershy is love and kindness, Pinkie Pie is Joy and happiness. Those are all awesome things! And I know I said it already but I love Pinkie Pie's past and her personal struggles. You really feel sorry for her... it's sad if you think about it...
anyway... Rarity is "dresses" and Twilight is pretty much just a marry sue (no offence meant.) and... books?
If they focused mainly on the 4 more interesting ones and just took it a little more seriously... it could be way better, you know?

Like I said, I've only seen the first two seasons, so I don't know if it gets way better... but... yeah... I'll hush now... : o

-Edit again-
Dang it, Hearth's Warming Eve was great too!- another great episode.
I guess I can't complain too much... I don't mind that the ponies are cute and all in all I really like the show.
... huh... /)^~^'(\

I'm working on a MLP-inspired game with OC ponies. Hoping it'll turn out alright. :D

Anyone try going to a MLP convention?

I attended Midwestria last fall. I wanted to try a relatively small convention in order to see what I thought about FIM fandom. Attended the con for a few hours and mostly enjoyed it. Midwestria is on hiatus for now, and their domain is currently parked.

You may already be quite familiar with the site... but if you have any difficulty recruiting help here on Lemma Soft, then browse Equestria Gaming for a while, and read about Lyra's List.

I'm trying to see how much coding I can do on my own before starting work on everything else. It wouldn't feel right of me to asking for help (most likely for free) without as much as I can on my own. I'll start reaching out once I'm in the actual writing phase though.

You're more then welcome to check out Brony Fan Fair if you'd like. I don't know how far Texas is from where you are though.

Status update.

With Season 3 now close to an end, I can safely say that the Creators managed to retain the quality of Season 2, though not that of the first one. Again, a few episodes were minor stinkers obviously trying to get THE MESSAGE out to kids (Cutie Mark Crusaders fight bullying? Spike earns pocket money by walking pets? Seriously?!), but "Crystal Empire" was a splendid opening two-parter, and with a Rainbow Dash/Top Gun crossover and the return of Discord in "Keep Calm and Flutter On", they did absolutely everything right. I still think they could cut down on "last minute morality speeches" a little; they often feel tacked on.

Don't forget the "I Owe You My Life" episode.

I do agree with what you said about the morality speeches feeling a bit tacked on. Personally I think it's because they haven't been writing as many letters to Princess Celestia. Instead of being given the moral of the episode in a clearly segmented in the closing act, the writers instead give it to us via sappy and slightly out of character speeches.

Dunno - I kinda liked that one. It was a decent Spike episode, comparable with "Secret of my Excess", and it had that slightly unreal element that made it a metaphor instead of a shout-out. Plus, timberwolves! (You COULD argue that Applejack as the Element of Honesty shouldn't try to deceive anybody - but "The Last Roundup" was a much worse episode in that respect.)

When this thread was new, I'd seen only a handful of episodes of the first season. I haven't been all that active in FIM fandom since then. I slowly got around to watching a few season two episodes, and it took me until January 2013 to watch all of season one.

It's a possibility. Airfare from Chicago to Austin in the fall isn't all that much. I'm trying to think about all my options for travel in 2013, and thinking about something which won't cost *too* much. Also, I didn't know until a day or two ago that you had more than a passing interest in the con...

I'm not sure whether this belongs here, but has anyone here ever enjoyed or even heard about the Don't Rest Your Hooves Pen&Paper RPG?
In short, it takes the premise of FiM, and combines it with a 1984-esque surreal dystopia in which nothing is as happy as it seems and Friendship is, indeed, mandatory.
