Gotta be Corpse Party and Danganronpa (fan translation) for me. PSP is a bit light on VNs, might want to check out the DS selection for VNs on the go!

I checked the Visual Novel Database. Selecting platform: Nintendo DS produces just four pages of results. Selecting platform: Playstation Portable produces about twelve pages of results.TheOnlyKieran wrote:...PSP is a bit light on VNs...
There were a few interesting official PSP translations. Disgaea Infinite was amusing. I was surprised when Corpse Party got released on the Playstation Network. And even though it had been a vague rumor for at least a year, I was even more surprised when the announcement of the Hakouki translation occurred. My overall favorite was the last professional translation: Sweet Fuse. I fully admit that it has plot problems, and I'm not sure if I like the "trust leads to survival" message. However, I liked most of its aspects. The story was not too bleak or whimsical. There was a decent mix of suspense, humor, and romance.
I'm glad that fans have put effort into translating Toradora Portable and then making sure it's bug-free with patch 1.1. I've been slowly reading this PSP visual novel and enjoying it. There are problems: guesswork when finding items, figuring out how to get to endings, and how some of the endings don't seem connected to the story. Despite all that, I like that it's not too serious, or that it doesn't try too hard to create comedy. It does not fall into the trap of trying to recap the series, but instead provides different ways in which the story could reach a conclusion.
An aside: some of the reasons why I tried to support DS software during the 2000s were the surprising number of products that 1) were nearly unprecedented on consoles because they lacked or didn't emphasize gameplay, 2) appealed to adults outside of video game fandom, or 3) bucked the trend of increasingly bleak games. The DS had a few officially translated visual novels that were relatively serious mystery stories.

I played Danganronpa on the Vita and it was one of my favorite games this year, as mentioned above there is a fan translation; so I would most certainly check it out if you like Battle Royale, Hunger Games, Persona 3/4, or Phoenix Wright.

I'm partial to Sweet Fuse myself, if only for the "call out the characters/villain" feature and the mystery aspect. Other than that, I can't think of any visual novels I've played on mobile platforms that were worthy of a blanket recommendation.
I highly recommend not emulating Sweet Fuse, as the music is rather wonky at times and there's a few strange graphical errors. Alas, it was my only option after I bought the game and found out that my PSP wasn't cooperative with long playtimes anymore.

If you can read Japanese, Umineko is a perennial favorite. Other than that, though, I think most translated VNs are on the DS or Vita- Other people have mentioned Danganronpa, which is a ton of fun, and Steins;Gate, which is a pretty hugely popular game you've likely already heard of, is coming out in America for the Vita next year. I'm sorry I can't offer a ton of help, really I am.

Super danganronpa (second game). Haven't played many other vn's on the psp apart from Disgaea Infinite but I've been looking into Hakuoki, the sequel to 999 and expecting Persona 4: Golden to arrive any day now. Of course that last one isn't really a vn but... uhh...
Wish I knew of more english titles actually! I'll have to look into it sometime.

I love Atelier Elkrone! xD I'd want to suggest it to people but it still has no Eng translation.

The only PSP VN's I've played were Disgaea Infinite and Danganronpa (fan translation) and I definitely enjoyed Danganronpa the most. Unfortunately, there is no translation for 2, unless you have a Vita.
