is it possible in any way from a 1.0 gigahertz laptop to run 1.8 gigahertz games even if it means they are slower?

I think there's more to it than just the ghz involved. Maybe the LSF folks can help you better if you list out your specs?
I've played games where my PC fails the minimum requirement, but it means lots of crashes and it's slow as all-out. It's possible on tactical games or RPGs, but anything that requires real-time reactions would be difficult.

Technically this should be in the "games" section. But, well, system requirements are there for a reason. You could try, but usually the system requirements are calculated as the lowest common denominator, so it probably will have quite the slowdown.
