Kreia from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords a complex character and a suberb companion in combat when set to Jedi Support!

Agreed. She was a magnificent character, and well-voiced, too!piepiebaby wrote:Kreia from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords a complex character and a suberb companion in combat when set to Jedi Support!

The voice! Indeed! can't forget about that. In my opinion, KOTOR generally has good voice actors, but Kreia was just... you can hear how she's been through a lot! Plus her snarking was funny~Aleema wrote:Agreed. Arcueid or Kohaku from Tsukihime, would be two characters I really liked.

ROFL, I hardly, hardly ever like protagonists.
This threads are fun, I like reading what others like
Hey, AzureTwilight, we have similar taste in games
Soooo...In no particular order.
1- Unseen Jay (Tales of Legendia)
A spy who masks his insecurities with lots of sarcasm and lots of makeup. Verrrrrry complex character.
2- Prince Cornelius (Odin Sphere)
A hero who always assumes the best of everyone. Everybody is innocent til proven guilty to him. His naiveté makes the rest of the characters go "WTF, are you dense??" but eventually wins them over. I love this guy.
3- Rufus Shinra (FF7)
This was the first character I OMG fangirled over. C'mon! White trenchcoat! A huge panther as a pet! "No one's ever seen him bleed or cry." He rules what to me is the most awesome fictional city in the gaming world.
4-Hector (Fire Emblem)
Hotblooded, shoots-first-never-ask-questions. Will go to the end of the world to save his friends. Crazy, but good crazy. Makes an otherwise too serious game a lot more fun

Ha. I'm glad to see that my high opinion of Jade from Tales of the Abyss is shared. He's definitely up there in my favorite characters list.
Other than him, there's Junpei from Persona 3. He somehow managed to be both the comic relief, and perfectly capable of standing up as a serious character. I really liked that about him.

Tales of Symphonia, Presea. I think Lloyd secretly loved her but he knew that she was eventually going to end up with the elegant and manly Regal...

From FF7....
Barrett is a major hoot, he talks big, can CERTAINLY back it up, but at the same time you see bits of tenderness with him - usually with his daughter. I am told that Barrett was modelled somewhat after Mr T...I can see the resemblse between them. *I pity the fool that messes with me!*

I really get a kick of out what the others here really like as far as supporting characters go...think I'll add another (sorry, for double post!)
Corus White from Garden Society Kykuit! He's nice, friendly, admits his own faults, and really makes the main character feel at ease.

Re: Best character in a game? NOT THE PROTAGONIST!
Well, if you haven't finished it, I'm not going to give a "spoilerful" opinion. Sooo, generalities.JinzouTamashii wrote: I haven't played Tales of Legendia completely yet, what did you think of it?
I'm the kind of gamer that plays for the characters involved.
For example: Have you played FFTactics? I hated it. The characters I liked got killed or left my party all the time. (Olan! Izlude! WHYYYYYY???) The only fully playable character I liked was Mustadio, the comic relief guy. I don't care how complex and meaningful the story is if the characters feel like cardboard to me.
There's a lot of tales fans out there who hate TOL. It's considered a "minor" game in the series.
But I think the characterization in Tales of Legendia is brilliant. And I love the story because it keeps a balance between incredibly silly lighthearted fun and , in the second half of the game, dark, angsty and sad (You'll know when you get there.)
Not the best game ever, but it's definetly on my top 5 (Up there with Suikoden, ff7 and Odin Sphere)
*end of rant*
Now, since I don't want to be super off-topic....
Other favourite sub characters: Larsa Solidor (ff12)
Ted (Suikoden 1)
Jade (Tales of the Abyss) (he's irresistible XD)
