Re: Hilarious voice overs
Oh wow, that was awful. Especially in the second video! Did they even try?
Re: Hilarious voice overs
Is it bad that I'm more offended by the mis-spelling of 'through' in the intro than the voices? It's a lot less effort to run a spellchecker on your script than it is to find and pay for decent voice acting. A couple of them weren't that bad - timing a bit off, over-emoting, but not terrible. The rest just seemed to suffer from "not the main character" syndrome.
Not to mention that the script wasn't exactly oscar material in the first place, and a poor script will always make acting seem worse than it is. Witness Natalie Portman and Euan McGregor in the Star Wars prequels.

What over-emoting? There's hardly any emotions in their voices at all xD

The main guy was - or at least, the guy I presume was the main guy, the one with the scar on his forehead. He had an enthusiastic emphasis on every third word or so regardless of how appropriate it was.Sin wrote:What over-emoting? There's hardly any emotions in their voices at all xD

Re: Hilarious voice overs
In the second video, Uru made me laugh.
When you're casting for voices, I don't think you want to cast a boy who talks like a girl, especially if the character isn't described that way. And the theme was so serious, but he was like:
Wow! I can't move at all!
That made me happy on the inside, because it was amusingly horrible.
And also very irritated, that the game director didn't realize how bad it was.

Re: Hilarious voice overs
Wow. XD This is sad but so funny! Yoichi is probably the only voice that makes anyone laugh and keep the voices on if you have the game. Poor Uru got a gay voice thought. I heard The CEO member got his own kids to do the voice acting. HURRAY BUDGET CUTS! Hyome is the really only one who put any emotion and voice into his character really. ^^;
Beast-Wars! Upcoming project filled with Comedy, Drama, Psycho's and POCKY!
To do list
1.Remember to Eat 2.Work on project
3.Work on project 4.Work on project
5.Go to bathroom 6.Work on project
7.Sleep
Yep... todays another day to be a slug.
Re: Hilarious voice overs
The best voice acting ever is from the shooter Castle Shinigami 2. If you haven't played it then you haven't heard English dub to its perfection
Re: Hilarious voice overs
The sad part is that "Uru" is actually "Yuri" from Shadow Hearts 2, a game I've played and love.
Sad to see his character butchered like this.

Oh my god... that was... so awfull xD
I don't know what is worse, the bad script or the worse Voice Acting... it's my first time seeing a character become so happy of not being able to move xD
And whats with the:
"JUMP!!!"
"Haaaahaaaaaa!!"
"Yehaaaaa" (it shows "Yeahh" , wich probably would be "Hiyyaaa" like a attack sound, but the voice dosen't even say "Yeahh")
and the best of all...
"SPLAT!" (HE DOES MAKE THE SPLAT SOUND!! I MEAN WHAT THE HELL XD).
It's times like these I don't know if I should laugh or cry T_T xD I fear for the RPG's of the future with this >_>

Re: Hilarious voice overs
Oohh... looks like there's a competitor to Tales of Phantasia GBA in terms of hilariously bad voice acting. And too bad O3 didn't contact Midway for continuity details on Shadow Hearts II: Covenant. That's poor research for me.
Seriously, where's my "IN-dig-NAY-SHON"?

Re: Hilarious voice overs
Actually, that what happened to games these days, the voice overs sucked, it's like, Japanese dubbers and English dubbers are tottaly different in quality.
Sigh, only a few are good, and most of 'em...
SUCKS.
I laughed tough, and like you all, Uru made it,
Cry at the same time?

Re: Hilarious voice overs
Nuh-uh. English dubs don't get as much of a budget, ish all. Originally english cartoons and animated movies, strangely, get *very* good voice acting. Talent is there, they're just never called in for imported stuff :/Japanese dubbers and English dubbers are tottaly different in quality.
