Animes you just can't stand

#1 Post by azureXtwilight »

Well, the title basically explains all, right? Those which I couldn't stand was those animes with pointless fillers, let's say naruto (seriously, when will this end? Gimme the end already!) and eyeshield 21, story? Okay, I accept! Fillers? Um, no.
And also, strange dawn, it's really strange, if you ask me. What else? Oh, right, beyblade (for the plot) and also initial-D (for the ugliness). Those are for shonen right? I just watch animes my brother watches XD

Kannazuki no Miko. I can't stand it to begin with, and people talking about it like it's good yuri makes me want to wring their necks.

Dragonball Z with it's multi-episode-spanning fight scenes.

Am I the only one who thought Ghost in the Shell sucked balls?

And Naruto's 150 episodes of filler... can't believe I sat through that.

English Death Note. The voices are so horrible, I laughed.
The japanese Death Note is good, though, but I prefer the manga.

I second Dragon Ball Z. Ick.

Hmmm... I guess I didn't really like Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka. It seemed pretty contrived and plot-less. I don't think I've ever watched an anime I didn't like, but let's just say Venus Versus Virus broke my heart because of the horrible vague ending.

Ah, almost forgot, Earl and Fairy. I don't know why, but it's just so... I mean, lots of bishies and I love my bishies, but I guess the story kind of pissed me off. And the main guy was freaking SPARKLING as he beat up bad guys in the first ep. It kind of left me speechless. And not in a good way. And I also gave up watching/reading Katekyo Hitman REBORN! when the Future arc became way too long for my taste.

I agree on Host Club, even though I liked the manga. I REALLY agree on Ghost in the Shell.

Other ones that annoyed me were Kamen no Maid Guy, Hayate no Gotoku (I thought it lost too much of the feel of the manga), Sengoku Basara, Maria+Holic, and pretty much anything my sister watches.

I thought Akaneiro was forgivable.

Reminds me of this joke:
How many Saiyans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Just one but it'll take 10 episodes.
Yeah, I hated Dragonball's anime due to that as well. I liked the manga though (read every volume).

Well, some animes are long just for the sake of money... That also caused oh-so-many fillers...

Dragon Ball Kai is actually a pretty enjoyable trip down memory lane (for me) instead of "OH GOD ARE THEY STILL ON NAMEK?!".

Oh yeah and I hate Strawberry Panic, seeing as I'm the biggest Marimite fan and too many people claim SP is better than Marimite when it's really just Marimite dumbed down with added fanservice for stupid people. >_>

DeathNote after the time skip I cannot stand.
DeathNote needs L! How can you have DeathNote without L?!
This statement is false.

School Days. I have tried a few times to get through it just for the sake of seeing what all the fuss was about (well, the ending), but watching it is too painful.

I must be the only man on Earth who doesn't like "Monster". While the initial story setup seems gripping, as soon as the way the "monster's" powers work is actually shown, it seems so cheesy - essentially, what is described as "charisma" and "natural leadership" is little more than a form of magical or parapsychological super-hypnosis, debunking the premise of a thriller firmly rooted in reality. And as I live in Germany, I absolutely can't stand the way the country and its people are depicted, especially where it concerns our extreme political right-wingers or neo-nazis. Yes, they exist, and yes, they constitute a huge problem because of their affinity for violence and the quiet sympathy they have in certain parts of our country. However, their political agenda is nothing like what is shown in "Monster" - plus, the German reunification has changed our political landscape in a way "Monster" completely fails to capture. Sorry, I just cannot relate to that supposedly kick-ass series.
