What do you hate about Japan?

#1 Post by Kyosuko »

I dunno if there was a topic like this before, but i'm curious if others do feel that they hate something about Japan.

For me, somehow i started to hate the current releases of anime now, it's really rare to find an epic one now..(i dunno if others felt the same)

That's not a problem with Japan, but a problem with Western fansubbers. In fact, in all of my time watching anime in Japan, I have only seen three minutes of any popular anime with fansubbers. (Dance with the Vampire Bund) There are all sorts of other animes that nobody outside of Japan is ever going to see (or would really be interested in, for that matter...)

I think western fansubbers act like a "censorship" committee...
I've got to agree, there's a lot of Anime that's good but can't be seen because there's no interest to sub it.

Once again a problem with both japan and america, I want them sending some VNs over here. But america thinks there is no interest so we don't get any and japan doesn't even try.

Well, whale killing and nationalism mostly. But I might forgive, only if they publish more Black Butler stuff. (<-- that was supposed to be a joke)

I disapprove of the high suicidal rate in Japan, but that just seems to be a deep-rooted factor in their society.

The fact that they invaded the Philippines and didn't have the military power to follow through.
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

I hate the distance between my country and Japan. It's great for the oriental stuff, but it's way too far (10 hours by plane) T_T
I wish I could go there every holiday...

I hate how they stand still at concerts and gawk at the musician. WTF? DANCE or something! The artist is killing himself/herself to get you to react in any way, but you're too in love with them to risk sweating to smudge your makeup. If you're a fan, the least you could do is try to act like you're interested. >_> This, too, is also something deeply rooted in their culture, but the Western music scene can't brutally rip their traditions away fast enough in this case.

May seem like a trivial thing, but it's just something that really bugged me while I was there. (I like Japanese music ...)
To be fair, I think the reason is that half the crowd is a friend of the true fan, because of the can't-go-anywhere-by-myself rule in life. I swear I'm not a loser if I eat at a restaurant alone. >_>

This. And you have to learn the language, while I had a hard time to.

Japanese isn't that hard to learn.

I don't like the verb system, but maybe it's because i'm too used to english. And what's the deal with "kedo" and "demo" seemingly used interchangably for "but?"

I still can't figure that one out.
