Japanese live-action dramas?
Hey there! I've recently become interested in Japanese live-action dramas/movies/etc, but I'm not sure how to find recommendations for good ones. I liked the live-action version of Deathnote... but don't really know where to go from there...
Any recommendations? I like pretty much anything.... ^__^

I like Dramas too.
I'm kinda busy right now, so instead of giving you a list of the thousand best Drama's I like, here's a great website:
http://www.dramacrazy.net/
Try searching under 'Most Popular'
Oh and here is a Drama everyone should see:
(It is a Korean Drama, not Japanese. (But I find I like Korean Drama's better anyways...))
"Your Beautiful"

There are no words to describe how much I liked this Drama!
Watch it. Now.

You could take a look around at DramaWiki and see if anything interests you. Personally, I recommend Great Teacher Onizuka.

Are most live-action dramas Korean? Or does Japan make any? Haha I've noticed some live-action versions of my favorite animes have been made, but it seems like Korea made them, even though the anime was originally done in Japan. Does Korea have like a monopoly on dramas? haha

Let's just say that Japan's forte is animation, and Korea's is live action. Though according to my sister Chinese people have some good dramas.
Have you watched 1 Liter of Tears? That's a good J-Drama.

Oh I didn't know that, about Korea and Japan. It would be nice to watch Japanese drams, though, because I know part of the language and the culture better. o.O;; I've been watching a Korean drama and they mention things I don't understand, haha. I saw Liar Game mentioned and thought it looked interesting, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet!
Thank you everyone for the suggestions!!! I will definitely watch those ^__^

I really liked the live action movie for Nana. There's also Kikujiro which is amazing. I don't know any jdramas as in television series but those are two good movies.

Re: Japanese live-action dramas?
I've tried to find the live-action Nana movie... but I can't find a way to watch it online or download it, and have only found Nana 2 readily available to buy. It seems dumb to watch the 2nd without seeing the first.... I read some of the manga but the art bothered me, so I didn't continue. XP

Re: Japanese live-action dramas?
Don't get Nana 2, the cast changed from the first and they are not nearly as good. I got my dvd from Netflix (they have a lot of foreign films from Japan and Korea). Plus, most of the character development is in Nana 1 while Nana 2 is more like a cheezy soap opera (the drama was much better translated in the anime than the movie).

If you're a romantic comedy gender-bender kind of person, you might want to check out 'The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince'. It's a Korean drama, and it's super cute. Yay for the "OMG AM I GAY?!?! Oh wait, it's a girl!" kind of stories
