Uploading Your Game
I'm not done on my project yet but I just wanted to know about uploading your game on the internet. Is it possible to upload your game for online playing or people really have to download your game before they can play it? Thanks

Re: Uploading Your Game
Ren'Py is not for online playing. It is for making downloadable games only.
Re: Uploading Your Game
i think it would only be possible if you'd built your game in flash

But wasn't that done before already? For sakevisual's KN ripples and the VN The flower shop by winter wolves. I think you could do that through vnovel or something. And also I think you have to be in association with them and your story has to be so good for them to put it up. Meh, I'm not really sure. -_-
I agree with clannadman on flash though, you can upload those kinds of games on deviantart.

Re: Uploading Your Game
Personally, I'd rather have the game to be downloaded, because sometimes flash games on my internet lags my computer... i know, weird.
& I like having an actually file of the game in my hard-drive so I can always go back to it even when I don't wifi access.

Oh I see. My mistake then. I thought they were made with Ren'py.Aleema wrote:Yes, but that wasn't done with Ren'Py.SilverxBlue wrote:But wasn't that done before already? For sakevisual's KN ripples and the VN The flower shop by winter wolves.
Re: Uploading Your Game
Well that makes it all clear. Thanks! I feel a bit disappointed. I was really hoping ren'py games could be played online because if people have to download it first less would be playing the game and the author/creator wouldn't receive that much feedbacks, but it's ok now. Thanks again for the people who helped.Aleema wrote:Ren'Py is not for online playing. It is for making downloadable games only.

Re: Uploading Your Game
What might be confusing is that both games were originally made with Ren'Py, and later ported to an online format.SilverxBlue wrote:Oh I see. My mistake then. I thought they were made with Ren'py.
