Haeleth: Great minds think alike. I implemented both of your suggestions a couple of days ago. I also allow someone to continue rolling forward after clicking... provided the clicks are all in the same places.
One can now roll forward through dialogue/narration, in-game menus, input statements, imagemaps, and pauses. There's also an API that lets one add roll forward support to user-defined interactions, like the scheduling interface.
The one thing I'm debating on adding is an indicator, similar to the skip mode indicator, that will show if Ren'Py thinks we're in rollback mode. Does anyone have any thoughts?
