A different name window(solved)
I was wondering if it was possible to change the window for the character names?
So that it looks different from the main text window, and if I can change the color depending on the character speaking.
Like in Starry Sky, I guess?
I just don't like the look when the name window is the same as the text window.
....uhmm.. I hope I posted this in the right forum

Re: A different name window
I don't know about changing the color for each character speaking, but in order to just change the color or image of the name box, you have to go to options.rpy and the command that you have to input is style.say_who_window.background = Frame(imagename, 0, 0)
The 'imagename' should be replaced with the name of the image that you want to use for the name box, and the two 0's are to designate the size of the borders.
From there, it works like how it would work if you were to change the text window background (adjusting the margins and the padding), but instead of using the command with style.window, it's style.say_who_window.
At least, that's how it worked for me.

Re: A different name window
I believe that you can pass various "say" styles (styles relating to the dialogue, including the say_window) to the Character() function using various keyword arguments.
This page from the documentation will probably be very helpful to you. Scroll down to just above the "Example" section for the relevant info.

Yes, you can but you'll need to make each character's individual name box first.tatsumiya wrote:I was wondering if it was possible to change the window for the character names?
