Is Ren'Py server gets down?

#1 Post by chisa-chan » Fri May 04, 2007 4:15 am

Just wondering, is Ren'Py website in 'normal state'? I usually can download Ren'Py versions in a few minutes and the Live Bookmark feed loads well, but nowadays, the Live Bookmark feed is failed to load, and I have tried to download Ren'Py 6.2.0 over 10 times, but never succeeds.

What is going on?

Use a download accelerator.

Connections in Indonesia must be as flakey as those in Vietnam, for example. Torrents work fine (since the connections keep changing), but try downloading a single direct download without resume... headache > <.

I don't know about that. My cousin is able to get this correctly, although he's in Vietnam.

Use a download manager, not an accelerator. Downloading multiple files from the server at once is frowned upon. (On renai.us, I actively cut down the number of simultaneous connections, so that one user can't hog all the server's bandwidth.)

Not sure, I use LAN in pa's office, and it is the fastest one I've ever tried. Mostly my friends use dial-ups.

Torrents won't work here, not sure why it happens...

Firewall.

You should be able to easily download Ren'Py on dialup at home.
