"Exception: Could not set video mode"

I've been having a bit of trouble with my Steam based copy of "Analogue: A Hate Story" recently. Whenever I try to switch from windowed mode to fullscreen (and sometimes even if I don't try), I get an error message that states the following:

"I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:

Is there anything I can do? I have validated my local files using Steam, but that did not help. To be frank, I'm at a loss. Any and all help is appreciated.

Odd, usually people reporting this issue have old Intel graphics drivers.

Anyway, if you press SHIFT+G, you can force Ren'Py to use a different graphics rendering mode; that often helps. Also, you might want to make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. (Steam has a convenient "Check for Video Driver Updates" option for this.)

I tried forcing all of the different options: Angle/DirectX, OpenGL, and Software. Angle/DirectX and OpenGL made no difference, while the Software renderer allowed me to enable fullscreen, but not without copious amounts of lag and visual bugs.

That "Check for Video Driver Updates" option looks like my only hope. How would I access that?

In Steam, under the "Steam" menu in the top-left corner. (Or you can go to the AMD website to get the current driver.)
