Hello,
How do we change the icon on the upper left corner of the window?
Tried using XN Resource editor and successfully changed the icon for the exe but when running the application the upper left icon is still using the default icon.
Any idea how to do this?

Set config.window_icon to be an image file (like a png). Transparency is sort of broken, so it's best if you go with a solid file.

I've had a lot of problems when trying this for MagBou. It wasn't even transparent ^^;... Just... keep trying... :/

Just confirming that to change the exe icon, you have to change the external renpy one before building the distributions.
Because before I changed the Windows exe, but I was wondering how you change the Mac and Linux icons, but apparantely that was how you do it.
Correct?

To change the mac icon, you need to go into the renpy.app directory and replace the .icns file somewhere under there. Note that this is a different format from the windows .ico file... you need a tool that makes .icns files, and I don't know of any tool that does that on windows.
The linux distro doesn't have icons.

I'm trying to change an exe again with XN Resource Editor, and it doesn't seem to work right. Instead, sometimes other applications change their icons (for example, videos become marked as PSD files, and vice versa.) Refreshing does the trick, but still...
I think I've done this before, but what could be going wrong here?
Also, if someone can post a step-by-step screenshot of how to change exe correctly, that would be appreciated. Thanks.

The short answer is "Windows".
It gets confused sometimes. I wouldn't have thought that it was an incredibly difficult thing to get right, but apparently it is. On the plus side, I've not seen Vista do this yet...

That's the shell icon cache interfering. You can refresh the cache using TweakUI (aka "Power Toys for Windows XP"):

For a quick and dirty check, drag the exe somewhere it hasn't been before (Desktop), then the correct icon should show.

If it helps, I found a free .icns converter for Windows. I'm going to be using this one as well.
Here's the link:
