It is possible to have NVL style menus while in ADV mode?

#1 Post by rocket » Tue Jul 10, 2007 2:59 am

Basically I would like to have the user choices show up in the dialog area at the bottom the screen for stylistic reasons. I just don't like covering up the art work and I want to have the feeling of the player directly selecting the next piece of narrative. Is this possible?

And what do NVL and ADV stand for anyhoo?

And, are you guys remotely aware of how insanely awesome this tool is?! ^_^

find this line in options.rpy

Code: Select all

button_menu = True,
(it should be in style section)

and change it to

Code: Select all

button_menu = False,
:wink:

I thought it stood for Novel and Adventure mode respectively. Is that wrong?

Yes. Yes, we are. :) (We, the users, anyway. I think Py'Tom, the author, must have at least some idea of how insanely awesome Ren'Py is, given the snowballing number of projects that have used it for many diverse and magnificent things :) )
I released 3 VNs, many moons ago: Elven Relations (IntRenAiMo 2007), When I Rule The World (NaNoRenO 2005), and Cloud Fairy (the Cute Light & Fluffy Project, 2009).
More recently I designed the board game Steam Works (published in 2015), available from a local gaming store near you!
