Game graphics look way different in different devices?

#1 Post by DeletedUser160413 » Wed Dec 04, 2013 2:06 pm

So I really have an issue with one thing when it comes to the graphics of my game. All of the graphics are made on my windows 7 laptop. The light intensity on my laptop is pretty high but I like to work with the power saving plan that Microsoft have recommended which is balanced (I don't know if this even contributes to the issue). But I do think this kind of influences the brightness, saturation and contrast of the graphics I make for my project. When I upload the graphics on the internet and check how they look on other devices like iphone, ipad, android phones etc they look way too saturated and the contrast is too high. It's annoying because I don't know how the game will end up looking when I distribute it. Let's say that I choose a light brown color and use it, well it turns out reddish and very saturated instead of light brown on my phone. I would like that consistency but I don't know how to think.

So my question is, is this just my imagination or should I change it? Also, does Ren'Py adapt or modify itself to other devices when it comes to contrast and light or do I have to tweak things myself?

Low quality LCD screens like the ones found in most laptops have poor color reproduction. Calibrating your screen can help somewhat, but the only real fix would be to hook up a higher quality external monitor.

I had an idea it could be something like that.. :? It's annoying because 3 months worth of art have been made on my current laptop -_-
