How to fill up screen with background image?

#1 Post by Weirdish » Wed Dec 25, 2013 2:44 pm

Hello, dear forumees! Pretty sure my question sold me out: Yes, I'm a Ren'Py newb. :lol: Pleased to meet you all (please take care of me!). Right now, I'm working on my first solo (and first, period) project.

Here's a screenshot of my current headache:

I'd be really thankful for any tips to help solve that issue. :oops: Thanks again!

Oh, and, Merry Christmas! :D

Easy-peasy, just make it the same size of the game screen.
If it's, say, 800x600, then re-size it to that size.

Happy Holidays~
Much Appreciated for those who took the Survey!

Is there a way for me to alter the game screensize to accomodate the background image? I'm afraid that the quality will be sea level if I alter the image. :roll:

in options.rpy you have this lines:

config.screen_height = 600
config.screen_width = 800

You can change this values to fit your needs.

No matter which way you enlarge it the quality will decrease. But decreased quality is better than decreasing the size of the window. It is highly recommended to find assets that are 800x600 or larger. Working in a size as small as that image would detract from the reading experience.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind once I've got the basics down for my first tryout. Thanks for the tip!
