Sounds good...

Upon further inspection...I've found that they didn't fix the panning problem by making it not fool with the user settings... They did it by always panning to the center no matter what your settings are...which isn't a huge problem at all, lol. I doubt many people (if any at all) pan their MIDI sound to anything other than center.

Just thought it might be interesting to know. *shrugs*

Yeah, I figured that out from the relevant parts of the SDL_mixer source code. I'll probably keep that center pan behavior (if only because it'll be basically impossible to fix), and focus on trying to keep the volume sane.

Same here, the panning behaviour is fixed - thanks Tom! I agree this was the most annoying part. Keeping the default volume setting would of course be a plus (mainly because it otherwise restricts the users' ability to balance volumes of audio and MIDI), but it's good enough unless other users start complaining. :)

Okay, I've managed to go and figure out how to directly read the midi volumes on Windows. So the latest version of the code should do a reasonable job of ensureing that the midi volume stays what you set it.

I'll probably cut a new release in the next few days so people can test this (and a couple of other new features that will support my game) out.
