I have been working on a big project recently, for Ren'Py newbies like myself. I have been going through the cookbook and questions/announcements forums, looking for helpful posts for beginners. I have compiled tons of links, and have organized them categorically!
By no means am I pushing the official documentation and FAQ aside; on the contrary, it's really helpful, and it definitely an incredible amount of work to put it together. However, I have noticed that a lot of beginners have been interested in seeing more code examples and more detailed explanations for those of us with little to no programming background. In addition, by compiling links to posts by category (e.g. character sprites, backgrounds, etc.), I hope to minimize difficulties in finding answers to old questions.
With that, I bring you... *drum roll*...
... The Ren'Py Handbook! It's still a work in progress, but I hope to make it as helpful as possible, and share what I learn as I go along.
I hope this helps! ^_^
