"Say" Screen/Choices animation [SOLVED]

#1 Post by plaster » Sat May 17, 2014 4:30 pm

Dumb question!

How would one go about adding a simple animation for when the dialogue window or player choices appear on screen? Basically just fading and moving in instead of just appearing.

Sorry if I sound like an awkward penguin
and thanks bunches!

If you're looking to have your characters "dissolve" in, this thread might help. :)

Not the characters, the box that shows what they're saying.

Sorry that I completely misinterpreted your question.

I know a way to make the actual text disappear (here), but I don't know about the dialogue box.

My apologies.

For player choices, you can use a transform added to the vbox in the "choices" screen (screen.rpy).

Same idea for the text box.

For the dialogue, if you are using latest version of Ren'Py, there's the new "window auto" feature:
