Hi,
I have been building my game for a while now using Ren'Py on and off, but the game is getting very close to completion, we have had two very successful kickstarters to crowdfund it and well it is looking good. I originally started the game using a different engine but since the new updates have been seeing Ren'py as the only good way forward. So far the other forums posts and various info online has allowed me to make the majority of the game but I hope someone might help with this:
Difficulty:
In my game I have the player take part in a series of battles, against monsters and the like, during these battles, which I am using a simple decision tree for I want to include a little bit of randomness in the scene jumps.
For example a player chooses to kick the enemy in the battle. At the moment they would then jump to the results screen for that action and it would effect all the variables accordingly.
However what I would like to do if possible is so that when the player selects their choice then the game jumps to one of several possible new scenes instead of just one. In one scene the player may hit the enemy, in another the player may be blocked etc.
Can anyone advise of what they think would be the best way to do this so that I could include 5 or more possible random results to their attack choice. So that I can make each battle occur a little differently when they re-play the game.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Random event jumps?
