So i entered a image(as a background image) it only showed the lower left of it
im assuming its too big.. so what is the size of the renpy screen?
also can i js crop it down in renpy?

The default resolution is 800x600, and you can change that through options.rpy

Resize the image you want to use for your background to 800 by 600, that way it will show up (since the default screen size in Ren'Py is 800 by 600, as Broodelin pointed out).
