Is it possible that, when clicking on a gallery button, instead of showing the image on fullscreen, show it on a thumbnail as a preview? Then after this, make it possible to go fullscreen by clicking on the thumbnail or somewhere else.
My idea is something like this: a list of thumbs, then on the center is where the image is previewed.

Re: Gallery Thumbnail / Fullscreen
May I suggest to you a setup with two separate screens-
screen 1, which is the smaller buttons on the left
screen 2, which is the big box
and both of them are imagemaps, 1 is above 2--
upon clicking something on screen 1, set a variable to something
and on screen 2, use if statements to change the image displayed
