Ren'py Issues

#1 Post by Speeny » Fri Dec 26, 2014 7:00 am

So, I installed Ren'py version 6.18 (latest) tonight.
I ran the software, and once it was time to open up the scripting section, I hit Jedit as my preferred scripting tool and it tried to update, and gave me an error along the lines of: "the update file does not have the correct digest."

I then proceeded to reinstall Java, and now I had an error relating to Java itself..I reinstalled Ren'py..and that issue is fixed.
But still, can somebody help me out with the issue touched on first above? Because I'm killing to make some VN's...

Thanks!

Thanks for your response.

I've followed the steps in the topic you linked me too..and nothing has worked so far.
I've tried Editra also and the others, still hasn't given me any justice. :/

http://renpy.org/latest.html

Scroll down to "Editor Downloads", then click on jEdit. After it's done downloading, extract the folder to desktop, then drag it into your Ren'Py folder.
As it is your first launch, you don't have any editors installed, and it isn't an actual updating (moving from lower version to higher version) error as you don't have anything to update to begin with, it should work this way :3
