Creating .obb files?

#1 Post by octacon100 » Sun Feb 01, 2015 4:14 pm

Hi All,

I've gone past the 50MB file size with my game, and I'm hoping to create an extension .obb file. The thing is, even when setting the "build.google_play_key" and "build.google_play_salt" settings, and saying I want an .obb file. I get a .apk over 59 MB, and a .obb of 2MB. What do I need to do to get the assets into the obb file? Do I need to use a certain folder name to put everything in? Would really appreciate some help. I'm probably missing something incredibly nooby, but I have been googling for days and can't get this to work.

Thanks in advance!

As long as you have it enabled, everything should go in the .obb. Perhaps delete the rapt/bin directory to make sure it's not using old assets.

I've tried deleting the folder and recreating the build, but I'm still getting a 59MB apk, and a 2 MG obb. I've noticed this "Current build type is different than previous build: forced apkbuilder run" message. Could that have something to do with it?

EDIT: Sorry I can't be more help, I'm looking around for the log file for the build, but I can't find it anywhere.

Ok, figured it out. It seems like the builder really didn't like my font files. Whenever it would hit a font called "OpenSans-Regular.tff" It would stop making the .obb file. That's really weird. I'll see what's happening with that font.
