Stylizing rollback?

#1 Post by marigoldsofthenight » Thu Mar 12, 2015 1:07 am

I'd like to stylize the rollback of my novel, and really the text in general. I'm stuck on if this should be accomplished in NVL-mode or the regular mode.

Essentially, I want all dialogue at first to appear in the center of the screen, and then as the player clicks to advance the story, that dialogue is pushed up the screen and loses a bit of opacity while the next dialogue fills in the center. The dialogue loses opacity as it goes further up the screen, eventually fading away completely after a few lines.

...Then, in the event of a rollback, everything scrolls back down, with the opacity of older dialogue increasing, while the newer fades away.

I hope I explained that right. If not, I might be able to whip up an image to illustrate what I mean.

Sort of like this, I guess.

Oldest Dialogue
Older Dialogue
Old Dialogue
New Dialogue

Is this something that can be done in Renpy?
