Thanks to the enormous generosity of several members of the Ren'Py community, I've decided to stop charging for the use of Ren'Py Pro, and make it available for everyone to download. I've been meaning to do this for a few months now, ever since several other game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.) announced they were going free, but it took me a while to get all the licensing crap hacked out.

(And I didn't want it to slow down the releases of the open-source version of Ren'Py, which is what everyone was using to make their NaNoRenO games. And while it would have been nice to get Pro to people for NaNo, this whole thing was hashed out over the last couple of weeks.)

I'll be looking over the next few months - before Ren'Py 7 comes out - at merging the Ren'Py Pro specific features back into Ren'Py free, so at some point, there will just be a single Ren'Py, available to everyone.

Sounds lovely, I didn't even know there was a Pro version... Comparison chart is a bit strange, the only difference it suggests is the "Blinged-out Eileen Sprite". There gotta be more to it (features you mentioned).

now all my locked potential is gonna be set free that i've got so many more available tools!
and the cherry on top is the blinged out Eileen, i can't wait to start using her in my commercial super profitable and high-budget game!

I am seriously disappointed. I thought for the high price of FREE you would at least include features like boobs-physics or oculus rift support!!!

I've heard you get oculus rift support in the Super Secret Ren'Py Pro PRO v2.0 Hyper Fighting Edition, which is only given to Ren'Py monks in Tibet.

Wow, I just realised that I have definitely been lurking around long enough to remember that post.

What about the DLC for Blinged-out Lucy? Is that free too?

So, if it wasn't obvious to everyone and their brother, this was the 2015 April Fool's joke. I don't think I managed to get anyone this year - except for the fact that Ren'Py Pro is actually a real thing, albeit of very limited appeal. (The download works and runs.)

Thanks to Akabur (maker of a ton of very NSFW Ren'Py games) for providing the new sprite.
