My Renpy Script IS GONE

I am so done, I am extremely stressed because I had been working on a visual novel for weeks now and suddenly when I go to open the script, Jedit loads, and there is nothing. blank. I really wish I saved a backup. If anyone knows what is going on please tell me.

You could try opening Script.rpy with a different program like Notepad++ maybe? And then copying it to a new file?

Did you save it on your Dropbox, or Google Drive, or a similar cloud service? If you did you may be able to retrieve a previous version of the file, which you can find out by googling. If not I would give SundownKid's way a try.

Also, if you have a script.rpyc file, I might be able to recover much of the script from that. (Please back that file up right now, since Ren'Py might overwrite it.)

I decided not to mess with the file any longer. I'm going to restart the game from the beginning. At least I will be able to fix a lot of the storyboard.
