this might be a silly question, but how do we make an MPEG-1

so how do we make it? I'm using windows XP by the way

TMPGEnc is a good MPEG-1 encoder, assuming you already have an AVI video file. If you don't have a video file to begin with, I'd say that problem is far beyond the scope of this forum...
The rest is left as an exercise for the reader.

Well, you have Windows Movie Maker. I also believe that OpenOffice.org Impress can output to AVI.
